Dark water

The Parana river soaks the cost of the provinces of Santa Fe and Entre Rios, among others. For two years on a row there has been floods. The first one was late January and February 2010. This year started in March and is still going on. Most of the coast of Victoria disappeared under the water.

El rio Parana moja las costas de las provincias de Santa Fe y Entre Rios, entre otras. Desde 2010 han habido crecidas del rio e inundaciones. La primera empezo a finales de enero hasta febrero 2010. En esta ocasion empezo en marzo y todavia continua, aunque muy lentamente ha comenzado a descender el nivel del agua. La costa de Victoria desaparecio bajo el agua en 2010.

Easiness

I’ve always liked taking pictures of kids. I mean, you probably have to take 50 shots to get a decent one but you also get the most amazing facial expressions from them. Of these two, the one with curly hair was the best because she was pretty genuine in front of the camera, not giving a damn about it.

Siempre me ha gustado sacar fotos de chicos. Es decir, seguramente hay que hacer casi 50 tomas para poder sacar una foto como la gente pero aun asi se obtienen las expresiones mas graciosas y espontaneas de ellos. De estas dos, la de cabello rizado era la mejor porque era realmente genuina frente a la camara.

The Shutter Divas – week #27 Umbrella Stories

Another Flickr group I joined is the one called The Shutter Divas and here we have weekly projects that we can either join or pass until the following week. On week #27 the theme was umbrellas. We were to shot everything and anything umbrellas-related and then post it. Here are some of the images I liked the most.

Otro grupo de Flickr al que me uni es The Shutter Divas y aqui tenemos proyectos semanales a los que podemos unirnos o esperar hasta la semana siguiente para el nuevo proyecto. En la semana 27 el tema fue paraguas/sombrillas. Teniamos que fotografiar todo lo que tuviera que ver con esos elementos y subirlos al muro del grupo. Week #28 {close your eyes and open your heart}

Mists of dawn

My very first day in Orlando, Florida was Magic Kingdom day! It was extremely early when we stepped off the little train that took us there and the park wasn’t even open yet. There was this sort of terrace over-viewing an artificial lake. Across the lake a colonial building stood tall and proud. It’s one of the Disney hotels and at that time of the day it was a beautiful view surrounded by mist, mirroring in the calm water.

Mi primer dia en Orlando, Florida fue para visitar el Reino Magico de Disney! Era muy temprano aun cuando bajamos del trencito que nos llevaba hasta alli asi que el parque aun no abria sus puertas a los visitantes. En los alrededores habia una especie de terraza que daba a un lago artificial. Del otro lado del lago un edificio colonial se alzaba con orgullo. Es uno de los hoteles de Disney y a esa hora del dia se veia hermoso rodeado por la niebla, reflejandose en las aguas calmas del lado.

Darkness Falls

Boston at night. View from a ferry. Very interesting city. It’s a lot like NY but without the constant hassle and noise.

Boston de noche. Vista desde una embarcacion. Una ciudad muy interesante. Es muy similar a NY pero sin todo el barullo y ruido constante.

Nantucket

Nantucket is an island off the coast of Massachusetts in the northern Atlantic ocean. It’s a such a cute little island! I had the chance to visit it in the summer a couple of years ago before July 4th so it wasn’t so crowded. Depending on the side of the island you are at, the water can be warm and calm or cold and wavy. I got a bad sunburn the very first day I got there because it was cloudy and windy at the beach and I didn’t use suntan lotion. I remember I used to go for long walks into town, the narrow sidewalks, the wavy streets, the old two stories (or even three!) houses with their maritime air and those pastel colors on their wooden walls… very picturesque…

Nantucket es una isla en la costa de la provincia de Massachusetts en el oceano Atlantico norte. Es una isla tan linda! Tuve la suerte de visitarla en el verano hace ya un tiempo largo antes del 4 de Julio (dia de la Independencia americana) y no estaba tan llena de gente. Dependiendo el lado de la isla en el que estuvieras, el agua de las playas podia ser templada y tranquila o fria y con oleaje. Me queme bastante con el sol el primer dia que llegamos porque estaba nublado y ventoso en la playa y yo no me puse bronceador. Recuerdo que solia salir a caminar por la tarde, las veredas angostas, las callecitas llenas de curvas, las viejas casas de dos o tres pisos de aspecto maritimo y pintadas en colores pastel en sus paredes de madera… muy pintoresco…
